Workshop VII:
Enhanced Problem Solving and Creativity in Ministry
Locations and times to be announced...
We don't have enough money! We're not meeting budget! It's not in the budget!
We don't have enough staff! We don't have enough volunteers!
Our facilities are too small, they are outdated, and the sanctuary is too small!
We can't hope to compete with the mega church down the road!
Jesus started with just 12 disciples and no churches as he set out to evangelize the world! His teachings were not popular, they ran counter to the culture and religious leaders of the day. He had no annual budget. He had no building, no denominational support, no long term tithing members. Of the 12 He chose to work with, some of them were high maintenance, some were doubters, some were complainers, some were impetuous and outspoken, and one was even disloyal!
Limitations, constraints, issues, and challenges, we all have them, we all face them. The question is how do we move forward and make progress in the face of those challenges?
A significant part of the solution to meeting today's challenges in ministry is discovering and practicing a new way of thinking. It's about developing a culture of critical thinking and creativity. It's about learning how to ask the right questions, not necessarily always knowing the right answers. It's also learning to move beyond our limitations and conventional wisdom, mixing creativity with Godly wisdom and prayer, and then being open to step out in faith, and embrace risk.
But how do we learn to do that week in and week out? These are some of the questions that will be answered in this important workshop.
Topics covered include:
Problem solving:
- What is the real problem with problems?
- A new way of looking at problems.
- A new, step by step process to work through problems more effectively.
Creativity:
- What is it?
- What are its benefits?
- How do we use it as an effective tool to move our ministry forward?
How do we embed these concepts into our staff, volunteers and church members?
Each workshop includes a full color manual that provides practical, step by step solutions, forms to use and other practical aids.
